To qualify for employment at The Alley, you must be:
- Registered University of Illinois at Chicago Student for at least 6 credit hours
- Must have open availability on weekends
The Alley will conduct the majority of the hiring before each new semester begins. For this reason, we encourage applying early through the UIC Handshake App. Availability is also a large factor in the hiring process for most areas. Applicants willing to work opening and weekend shifts are typically preferred.
To qualify for employment in Student Centers as a building manager you must be:
- Registered University of Illinois at Chicago Student for at least 6 credit hours
- Two years of employment history or classified as a Sophomore student. Must be able to work early mornings, late evenings/nights, and on weekends. Must be able to work under minimum supervision. Must have a Valid Driver’s license and be able to successfully complete AED/First Aid Certification.
- Student employees are both hired as regular and federal work study (FWS) employees. FWS students are given priority for job placement.
